A Case of the Mondays...

Sooo, I have discovered that the baby carrier mom got us is also REVERSIBLE!!
Which is a good thing, because Flannery would rather look out at the world rather than get a close-up of my clavicle.
See--I can have my coffee and my Flannery too!

Today Flannery got her 2 month vaccinations. Now, I just assumed that this would be like getting my cats vaccinated--one shot that has 3-4 vaccines, wham-bam its over.

Not so much.....so the nurse comes into the room with 6 (SIX) needles and an oral medication.

(Side Note: So when I worked at the vet clinic, before we vaccinated the animals, we would either ice down or flick the sight of the shot to mitigate the pain of the stick. No so with wee little people.)

The nurse says "Here we go....." and in rapid-fire succession she begins stabbing needles into the plump little thighs of my Wee Kalamata Olive. First left thigh, then right, REPEAT, REPEAT.....she was tearing off the syringe caps with her teeth and spitting them out. The caps and the syringes themselves were flying and hitting the floor.
Then she whips out 2 disney bandaids and slaps them on Flannery's little legs, steps back and says "Done!".
It was like the Loony Tunes episode where the Tasmanian Devil pretends to be a doctor in a hospital.

I will giver her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she was just trying to get it over with as quickly as possible for Flannery, however part of me suspects that she was trying to beat some kind of personal record for Fastest Vaccinator on Earth.

It was quite traumatizing......for me. I am sure it was tough on Flannery too:-)

Look at the bandaged little legs:-(

But what a trooper!!
She weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs 5 oz and is now 23.5 inches tall!!
Apparently this is big for a baby her age--she is in the 75th percentile.
However her skull measurements are only in the 45th percentile.
Hopefully it all evens out--don't want her growing up to be a Pin-Head.
On the bright side (as my mother cheerfully pointed out) she is a girl, so she can always tease her hair up if her head is too small:-)

After a day like this I would sleep it off too...
